Slow breaking news

What do you get when you mix crazy, fast breaking news stories with the decidedly slooooow medium of cross-stitch?

A genius graphic design master's thesis, and a statement that would make even Marshall McLuhan say "hmmmm".

I'm totally geeking out over these.

Happy again

Life is still hectic. I'm sure lots of freelancers will agree: success begets success, and you can never turn down a new client because you never know when the well will dry up.

I'm oh so tired, but the wedding is three months away, and I am going to enjoy these crazy few months of anticipation and planning if it kills me goddammit!

And how can I not be excited when I see glamorous winter wedding photos like this:

So beautiful.

I'm so excited! xoxoxo

PS: Freelancer lesson that I've learned the hard way: do not answer business emails outside of business hours. In the words of Dr Phil, you teach people how to treat you.

Prettiest thing: Net sculptures

Like an enormous fluorescent jellyfish hanging in the sky.

These net sculptures are blowing my mind.

A pretty thing for your hump day xoxo

Thoroughly Modern Monster

Inspiration on this rainy Monday to look at new things with an old eye.

How modern to be so retro.

Boldness becomes her

As long as I live, I will never love another hat as much as I love this one.

Cherry perfection.

Relax darling

After an absolutely bananas few weeks, I'm hoping that October will feel a little bit more relaxed. I am forcing myself to take time for late afternoon naps, snuggled-up in the cold sunlight.

Life's too short to run around all day.

Happy Weekend!

All week I was a day ahead (woke up on Tuesday convinced it was Wednesday), and now that it's Saturday I am suddenly a day behind.

This must be what I get for working seven days a week for the past month. I am all upside down!

And speaking of working my damn butt off, I still haven't figured out exactly what my goal is, but I did chat with a friend at length about it last night, and I've been reading Penelope Trunk's blog, so those are baby steps in the right direction.

I'm getting back to work now. xoxo
