Happy Weekend!

All week I was a day ahead (woke up on Tuesday convinced it was Wednesday), and now that it's Saturday I am suddenly a day behind.

This must be what I get for working seven days a week for the past month. I am all upside down!

And speaking of working my damn butt off, I still haven't figured out exactly what my goal is, but I did chat with a friend at length about it last night, and I've been reading Penelope Trunk's blog, so those are baby steps in the right direction.

I'm getting back to work now. xoxo

Happy Weekend!

It's been a funny week. Packed, but not busy. I've been spending a lot of time thinking about beautiful things: what the light in our engagement photos might look like, the sky limit of our wedding decor, beautiful things to put on my body, and what my future work may hold. Amazingly, the dishes still get done even if you're thinking of sparkles and silk while you do them.

And speaking of inspiration, Lizzie has inspired me to start brainstorming design ideas for my (small business) website. What's inspiring you this weekend?

Here are a few links to jump start your happy thoughts:

Hilarious customer service (via Anna)

I have a soft spot for pre-engaged pep talks

A quote every freelancer should memorize

Something blue

Something new (and oh-so-sparkly)

Layers of awesome: Horseback fishing

A one-stem bouquet: Hydrangeas are so pretty and simple

A fabulous home office

I love this simple aisle decor (from this post on SMP)

By the way, we booked our wedding venue! It's so fun to imagine it now I know what the space looks like.

Have a good one, darlings

Happy Weekend!

You may have been wondering where I've been the last few days. Let me try to explain. Summer is refusing to come to Vancouver so I've been bitter balls like a rodeo clown with no rodeo all week. I felt I needed to keep my whining off of the Internets, so thus the radio silence.

  Hyperbolic photo via Weardrobe

Despite the dreary, gray weather (with no sun! none!), Adam and I took a long bike ride today and sat on a patio in the drizzling rain drinking Caesars with friends. We're Canadian after all.

Anyway, if you're somewhere warm and sweating your cheeks off, here are some links to read while you cool out in the local Starbucks or whatever.

A list for the listless

Popsicles in champagne

The most beautiful wedding venue

A chic wrought iron towel rack

Upcycling like a boss: A chandelier made from a garden basket

Pretty Vancouver style

Making tonight: Cinnamon-Sugar Crusted Coffee Cake Muffins. Yeah.

A stunning silver settee

I brought this potato salad with sun dried tomatoes and basil to a BBQ this week, and it was a big hit. A really nice change from a creamy potato salad (minor recipe adjustment: I roasted, rather than boiled, the potatoes).

Cute sailor shorts

Happy weekend lovers!

*Mixed feelings on this one. I love to play Foosball and it's fun to see female players, but 1. How the f did it take this f-ing long? and 2. Do they have to make everything marketed to women pink? Sigh.

Happy Weekend!

Well it's finally summer in Vancouver. Pretty much. It poured with rain all week, but the sun is out now, and (surprise, surprise), I'm planning an epic bike ride for this weekend. Maybe if it gets really warm, I'll go hop in the ocean too.

Is it nice where you are? Too hot? Not hot enough? Adam's parents were just in Yellowknife in the deep north, and the weather there was 30 degrees (86 for you yanks)!

Anyhoo, here are some links for your weekend:

This article suggests men hire a "Proposal Consultant" at $2000-$10000 a pop to help them plan the perfect proposal. Yes, really.

In related news, A Practical Wedding put out a call for submissions today, and I'm going to send in my proposal story, which I promise will include advice the exact opposite of that utter bullshit article.

This made me laugh

And more stripes!

Don't forget: Dress for the job you want (ha!)

I'm saving up for these Frye boots. I hope to be stomping all over town in them come Autumn.

Happy Weekend!

I've got a fully booked weekend ahead of me, stacked with exercise, babysitting, cooking, sleeping, and maybe even a cameo at a country bar. Should be lots of fun!

Here are a couple of links until I see you next on Monday:

Speaking of APW - Single, dating, engaged, married, divorced or "it's complicated" - whatever. Ladies, read this.

Warning: If, like me, your Francophilia (particularly for Vespas and cafe au lait) is just starting to become eclipsed by your late-twenties-baby-crazies, and you're in that awkward middle-of-the-Venn-diagram phase where you might explode in fits of laughter/sobbing if you see, say, an infant in a beret, then I advise you, do not click this link. You'll be out $75.

I'm not much of a cake person, but for gold buttercream frosting at an Oscar party? I could make an exception:

Someone gave us a slow cooker in the summer and it's still in the box because I don't have any idea what to make with it. Luckily Snippet & Ink posted this recipe for Slow-Cooker Pulled-Pork Tacos - problem deliciously solved!

A snow-themed mix tape for all you readers neck-deep in it.

Egyptian Christians protecting Muslims in prayer. This is humanity.

Clever Volkswagen commercial: The Force

And a little funny for your Friday:

Hehehe.

Happy weekend friends!

Happy Weekend

Hope you've had a lovely week, dolls! Adam and I are kicking off the weekend by caring for a friend's baby while she and her husband have a date night. Tomorrow I'm going to buy my birthday bag, and on Sunday I'm trying deep water aquacise for the first time!

Some happy Friday links for you to enjoy:
