It's been a while since I posted an update on my 101 in 1001 list. That's because I wanted to get a few more things checked off before I posted about it, mostly for my own morale's sake. Anyway the past few months have been awesome! I got SO many things checked off.
Check it:
4. Get a pedicure once every summer (1/3) - I chose a color called "Mojito Moproblems" !!
22. See a Rothko in person - Adam said "meh" and I said "!!!!... meh"
32. Try three new restaurants in the city (3/3) - Easy!
33. Go to two new baseball stadiums/games (1/2) - We checked out the Red Sox at Fenway and they went 14 innings. There was a second 7th inning stretch!
35. Sip a beer in Boston - check and check!
42. Go on four +10km bike rides each summer (1/12) - 25km the day before Adam proposed
79. Attend at least one networking event per season (2/11) - Conference season
90. Visit Catherine (wherever she is!) - She was in Boston, hence the Rothko, Red Sox and beer
96. Grow mint each summer (1/3) - I just bought a stem down at the farm and it's growing like a weed on my porch
Also, I discovered that my good friend Amanda is a closet quilter! So I have found an ally to help me with #23. Sew my own heirloom quilt, when I finally start.
And last but not least, I got started on the most important item on this list: 92. Marry Adam
This is us shortly after he put a ring on it:
It's pretty much been the best month ever. Hope you are having a lovely summer too! xo

Let's hear it for the boys
So Adam thinks renting a tux is a bummer. He thinks that it's worth the investment for him to buy and tailor a nice suit, particularly because there's a Perry Ellis outlet not far from our apartment (where he bought a gorgeous suit last year for $100. That's right, $100 for an entire designer suit). And I agree.
Anyway, since Adam will be buying a nice, crisp suit for The Big Day, we've decided that we won't ask the groomsmen to rent tuxes either. Instead, we'll let them wear a suit of their choice. At first I was a little hesitant about this idea, wondering how this would look in photos and whatnot.
But then I went on Pinterest and looked up mismatched groomsmen, and this is what I saw:
Hello, hunks.
Oh, and thanks to years of reading blogs like ESB and APW, I already have an answer when people ask, "How will anyone know they are the groomsmen if they're not wearing matching suits?"
Because they will be at the front of the church with Adam, standing up when we get married. Duh.
And because knowing Adam's groomsmen, they'll make SURE everyone knows that it's Their Day Too. Hehe.
Another choice made!

Farm fresh summer
Yesterday, my friend Rachel and I went down to the farm to buy a big basket of fresh strawberries. They are in season and bright red and juicy - delicious! We ate half the basket on the drive home, pink juice running down our chins and staining our fingers. Tastes like summer.
I also picked up this incredible Blackberry Jalapeno Jelly at the General Store. Smeared on a slice of 12 grain toast with butter and a few fresh strawberries, it's heaven.
Happy summer, friends!

Huzzah!
Dolls, I found my dress! It's beautiful, classic and under budget.
And yes, it makes me smile like a damn idiot.
PS Thanks to Alison for the comment "It's all about the accessories anyway!" - this made all the difference. For realz.

Trend watch
Good morning, friends! I noticed a couple new visitors this week via my Google Analytics Magic Goggles. Don't be shy to leave a comment so that I can visit your blog too!
In important current news, here is Emily from Cupcakes and Cashmere rocking that old-lady glamour pleat-with-matching-colored-shirt-tucked-in trend.
Loving it with the hat and gold shoes. Go Emily! What do you think? Are you brave enough to try this trend? I sense my bandonkadonks are too bodacious to pull it off, but I found a similar style skirt on mega-sale and I bought it... so I'm going to try. As mum says: BE BOLD!
PS - Another pretty girl rocking the same trend.
